Marney Emery Clyde Sowers, 68-year-old WWI veteran and retired farmer, died just before midnight Monday (April 17, 1965) at his home in this community. A son of Thomas W and Sarah Myers Sowers, he was born September 11, 1896 at Wheeler, Ill . He was married in Jan 1925 to Lottie Wills, who survives. Mr. Sowers was a member of Phanuel Lutheran Church of Wallace. Survivors besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen
Sokarda of Reseda, Calif; two grandsons, Teddy & Tommy and two brothers, Bert of Wallace & Roy of Marshall. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home w here friends may call after
2 p.m Rev. John Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Wallace Lutheran Cemetery.

Marney Sowers, son of Tom Sowers has at last safely returned from army service overseas. He was at one time reported dead of wounds.
